Liverpool talent Calvin Ramsay has completed his move to Preston North End, joining on loan until the end of the season.

After days of speculation, Ramsay has now finalised his switch to Deepdale – but won’t be joining up just yet.

PNE have announced Ramsay’s arrival but he will only officially join North End on July 15th.

Ramsay joined Liverpool last summer but injuries meant he was limited to just two first-team appearances last season.

Back and knee problems meant Ramsay’s first season at Anfield didn’t quite go to plan.

Liverpool now want Ramsay to go out and get first-team football and he should receive plenty of it at PNE.

North End’s right wing back last season was Brad Potts, a converted midfielder who has given his all in that area.

Ramsay is a more natural option though and the 19-year-old was a superb attacking threat for Aberdeen with nine assists in 39 games.

Ramsay will hope to put his injury woes behind him and kick on to make a big impression at Deepdale.

The Scotland international has now commented on his move, telling PNE’s official website that he is ‘delighted’ to make the switch.

Ramsay wants playing time and thinks PNE is the perfect home to get senior action again.

Ramsay even added that other clubs wanted to sign but it was Ryan Lowe who sold him on the move.

Lowe convinced Ramsay of an attacking brand of football at Deepdale and the Liverpool talent thinks PNE are the best option for him despite interest elsewhere.

“I’m delighted to join Preston North End. The Championship is a top league as everyone knows and the main thing for me is trying to get game time, and I’m going to be able to do that at a good club. I can’t wait to get started,” said Ramsay.

“I’m happy to be getting the opportunity to get regular game time in a good league, which is important for me. I just need to work hard and try to play as many games as I can.”

“There were quite a few clubs interested, but when I spoke to the manager (Ryan Lowe), everything that he said was spot on. The way the team plays, they like to play attacking football, keep the ball and get forward.”

“I think that suits my game because I can score and assist goals, and I like getting at people. Ultimately Preston suited me the best,” he added.
