Preston would like to bring in one more striker this summer, with Manchester City youngster Liam Delap believed to be a prime target.
Another goalscoring threat is what Preston really need, though Frankie McAvoy does already have Ched Evans, Emil Riis, Sean Maguire and Scott Sinclair at his disposal.
Last week, Lancs Live reported that City talent Delap was a name near the top of Preston’s wish list, though there is fierce competition for his signature.

We believe that North End are quietly confidence of winning the race for Delap.
Preston actually face City in a pre-season friendly on Tuesday, meaning Delap could play against Preston.
We wrote last week that Preston’s pursuit of Delap could hinge on City signing another striker. Sergio Aguero has gone, meaning Delap is needed – especially with Gabriel Jesus playing for Brazil at Copa America this summer.
Without a new striker, it may be hard for City to justify letting Delap leave – even if he is only on the fringes of Pep Guardiola’s side.

Preston did strike a similar deal when signing Lukas Nmecha on loan from City in 2018, and Nmecha himself has offered an exciting hint for North End.
Speaking to Kicker back in Germany, Nmecha has claimed that City are ‘getting another top striker’, which is why he has left City for Wolfsburg.
Nmecha has seemingly heard something at City that suggests another striker is coming in soon, and that could help Preston secure Delap.
