Preston North End have secured the signing of Danish attacking midfielder Mads Frøkjær-Jensen from Odense.
PNE have confirmed the arrival of Frøkjær-Jensen on a four-year deal for a ‘significant undisclosed fee’.
Odense-based newspaper Fyens reported on Sunday that the deal would be worth around DKK 10 million, which works out to around £1.15million.
Rumours about PNE’s interest in Frøkjær-Jensen emerged at the end of June as Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet reported a failed North End bid.
PNE have now got their man, handing Frøkjær-Jensen a deal at Deepdale until the summer of 2027.

This is a major deal for North End but it’s also a very important sale for Odense.
The Danish side have already sold wonderkid Yankuba Minteh to Newcastle United this summer, striking a £5.8million deal.
Minteh is Odense’s record sale now but Frøkjær-Jensen’s exit will be worth around €1.35million, making him their joint-11th highest sale according to Transfermarkt.
Frøkjær-Jensen’s exit is only the third Odense sale since the summer of 2020 worth more than €1million.
Having come up in the club’s youth ranks, this is an important deal for Odense and the Superliga side seem very happy.
Odense Director of Football Bjorn Wesstrom has told the club’s official website that the club ‘should be proud’ of turning Frøkjær-Jensen from a youngster into a big sale.
Wesstrom also hopes to see Frøkjær-Jensen in Odense again one day, whether that is as a player or as a fan.
“Mads is another player trained in OB’s academy, who has developed in the first team to a level where he has now been sold to England. The whole club should be proud of that process. We wish Mads all the best in the future, and we hope to see you again,” said Wesstrom.

Frøkjær-Jensen leaves Odense after racking up 120 first-team appearances for the club, bagging 18 goals and 16 assists.
The 23-year-old has featured as a central midfielder, attacking midfielder and even left-sided winger as a versatile, creative threat for Odense.
A former Denmark Under-21 international alongside Emil Riis, Frøkjær-Jensen will now hope to become a real star in English football.
Odense will surely have a nice sell-on clause as part of Frøkjær-Jensen’s exit with Wesstrom and co no doubt cheering him on as he heads to Lancashire.
