Preston completed their fourth signing of the summer on Wednesday as Matthew Olosunde joined from Rotherham United, but he wasn’t the only potential right back option.
North End looked at other players in that area of the pitch too, including Osaze Urhoghide of Sheffield Wednesday.
The Dutch-born defender has only played 21 games for Wednesday, but he showed real potential in the Championship.
Boss Darren Moore branded Urhoghide ‘immense’, but Wednesday’s joy at his performances was coupled with fear over his future.

Urhoghide’s contract expired on Wednesday, and whilst Wednesday are entitled to compensation, he has decided to move on.
Lancs Live reported that Preston made an enquiry into signing Urhoghide, but didn’t take the move any further.
At this stage in his development, Urhoghide is more natural as a right-sided centre back or right back in a four-man defence, whereas new signing Olosunde is a more natural fit at wing back.
Urhoghide has now moved on less than 24 hours after Preston snapped up Olosunde, and he’s off to Scotland in order to join Celtic.
The Bhoys have this evening confirmed the signing of Urhoghide, handing the defender a four-year contract.
At just 20, Urhoghide has real potential, and Celtic will hope to get that out of him at Parkhead.
North End will hope that the decision to go with Olosunde doesn’t back fire, but the American does just seem to be a better fit for what North End need right now.
