Preston North End are battling Blackburn Rovers for the signature of Lincoln City attacker Anthony Scully ahead of the January window.
That’s according to Football League World, who claim that North End are in a congested race to sign Scully.
Local rivals Blackburn Rovers are also keen, alongside Millwall and Barnsley with Championship interest stacking up.
Scully has just over 18 months left on his Lincoln contract and this could be the time to cash in if offers arrive.
Scully, 22, was once tipped for a bright future at West Ham United but was sold to Lincoln in January 2020.
With 17 goals in all competitions last season, Scully excelled for the Imps.
This term, Scully has been sensational. In just 14 League One games, Scully has racked up seven goals and three assists.
When you add in his four goals in three EFL Trophy games, Scully is enjoying an amazing season so far.

Primarily a left-sided winger who cuts in on his right foot, Scully can also play on the right flank.
Scully has also played as a striker in the past, meaning he would offer a versatile attacking option for North End.
A Republic of Ireland youth international with schooling at a Premier League club, Scully ticks many boxes for North End.
Lincoln won’t want to lose Scully in January, but you can see why North End would be keen.
