Preston have now confirmed their second signing of deadline day, with Liverpool defender Sepp van den Berg arriving.
Stoke City centre back Liam Lindsay arrived earlier this evening, giving Alex Neil another left-footed centre back following the sale of Ben Davies to Liverpool.
As part of the stunning deal which sees Davies head to Anfield, Liverpool have now sent Dutch defender Van den Berg to Deepdale.
The 19-year-old has signed on loan until the end of the season, and we expect another arrival from Merseyside before the night is over.
We understand that Preston are now confident of tying up the loan signing of Everton winger Anthony Gordon until the end of the season.
North End have been chasing this deal since last week, and now believe a move will go through before the deadline.
The Athletic report similar, suggesting that an agreement has now been reached with Preston for Gordon to make the move.
The youngster bolsters Alex Neil’s wide options, and will be desperate for first-team football having barely featured for Everton this season.
With less than two-and-a-half hours to go until the deadline, Gordon could and should be Preston’s’ final signing of the window – but just how North End plan to juggle seven loan signings when only five can be in a matchday squad remains to be seen.
