Preston are looking to bring in a striker before this month’s transfer deadline, but don’t expect Nottingham Forest’s Lyle Taylor to join.
North End do have striking options in Ched Evans, Emil Riis, Tom Barkhuizen, Scott Sinclair and Sean Maguire, but are still hunting for more.
Manchester City youngster Liam Delap is one option, but a suggestion of Taylor to Preston has been floated on Twitter.
Taylor, 31, was linked with a move to Preston last summer as his Charlton Athletic contract was coming to an end.
With 36 goals in 67 games for Charlton, Taylor has a strong goalscoring record in South London and earned himself a move to Nottingham Forest.
Taylor struggled at Forest last term, bagging just four league goals, but did open his account for this season in Sunday’s 2-1 defeat at Coventry City.

The Sun’s Alan Nixon has been asked on Twitter whether Taylor is heading to Deepdale, and he pretty much killed off the rumour very quickly.
Nixon claims Preston are ‘not involved’ in the race for Taylor, with North End’s striker hunt seemingly heading elsewhere.
