Preston North End defender Jordan Storey finds himself in demand with Sunderland and Ipswich Town joining the race for his signature.
Reports early on Monday suggested that Wednesday had made their move to try and take Storey on loan until the summer.
It now seems that the Owls are far form alone in the race to sign Storey, with two of their League One rivals also keen to strike a deal.
The Lancashire Post claim that Sunderland and Ipswich are also looking to strike a deal with Preston for Storey’s services.
It seems that Preston may be willing to loan Storey out until the end of the season for first-team action though his destination is up in the air.
Storey signed a new contract back in September and was a regular for most of the season.
However, Ryan Lowe has yet to give Storey a single minute of playing time, sparking suggestions that the defender could go on loan.
Sunderland appear to be chasing a new defender with Fredrik Alves back at West Ham United and former North End man Bailey Wright injured.

Preston’s decision will simply come down to where Storey can play the most football, as they won’t want to risk him sitting on the bench for the rest of the campaign.
Josh Harrop had a rather dismal loan spell at Ipswich last season, so it may be interesting to see if North End decide to send Storey elsewhere.
Storey still has a long-term future at Preston, but getting him out on loan may allow trialist Bambo Diaby to sign on a permanent basis.
