Preston look set to complete the signing of Bamber Bridge playmaker Jamie Thomas after a successful trial period with the club.
That’s according to Lancs Live, who claim that Thomas will be offered terms by North End after spending two weeks at the club’s Euxton training base.
Thomas scored twice against Preston earlier in pre-season, firing in two long-range goals for Bamber Bridge at Euxton.
Preston then decided to take Thomas on trial, and he responded by scoring with a header against Accrington Stanley.
Thomas played again for Preston against Wigan Athletic last Friday, playing a superb pass in the build-up to a Tendayi Darikwa own goal.
The 24-year-old may have been in non-league in recent years with AFC Blackpool, Squires Gate and now Brig, but Preston seem to have seen enough to strike a deal.

Thomas was on the books at Blackpool, Bolton Wanderers and Burnley in his younger years, and even scored four times in eight games for the Wales Under-19’s.
Preston may only give Thomas a one-year deal to see if he can stick around in the Championship, but with North End now having a reserve team again, this deal has little risk.
Thomas will become Preston’s sixth signing of the summer after deals for Liam Lindsay, Sepp van den Berg, Izzy Brown, Matthew Olosunde and Daniel Iversen.
