According to Lancs Live, Doncaster Rovers midfielder Ben Whiteman is interested in a January move to Preston.
Earlier this week, The Telegraph reported that Preston are looking to sign Whiteman in January despite long-term interest from Blackburn Rovers.
It’s now stated that Whiteman is attracted by the prospect of playing for a club as big as Preston, whilst being close to his hometown of Rochdale is also appealing.

Queens Park Rangers are also thought to be keen, but those two factors could just push Preston into becoming favourites for his signature.
A deal in the region of £1.3million would allegedly be needed for Whiteman, but it will be fascinating to see whether Preston can strike that kind of deal now, or need to sell Ben Pearson, Daniel Johnson or Alan Browne first.

The 24-year-old – formerly of Manchester United and Sheffield United – has racked up eight goals and seven assists in just 23 games across all competitions this season, starring for Donny.

He has played as a midfield controller in a deep role like Pearson, or in a box-to-box role like Browne, meaning he does fit as an ideal target for North End.
His willingness to join Preston is a huge boost, and with the January window now open, North End should certainly be trying to secure his signature quickly – before those other clubs get involved.
