According to a report from Football Insider, Preston North End are back in the hunt for Aston Villa striker Keinan Davis.

It’s claimed that Preston are battling Huddersfield Town and Queens Park Rangers for Davis, with Villa planning to loan him out.

The 22-year-old has only played five times this season, and his 38 minutes of Premier League action have come from the bench.

Davis played against Burnley last week, coming on for 10 minutes in his first appearance since the 1st of October.

Villa clearly have faith in Davis having given him a new contract over the summer, but he needs playing time to continue his development, meaning a loan move would make some sense.

This isn’t the first time Preston have been linked with Davis; Football Insider claimed in October that North End had made an approach for him, and an offer was allegedly rejected in August 2019.

Would Davis fit in at Deepdale? Well, probably. He fits what Alex Neil likes up top in that he is a big, physical presence with a fine turn of pace and admirable work rate.

Preston added Emil Riis in October, but if Neil wants to take some pressure off him whilst he continues to develop, a loan deal for Davis until the end of the season could fit the bill for North End.
