Preston are closing in on another loan deal for Liverpool defender Sepp van den Berg according to the Lancashire Evening Post.
It’s claimed that North End will hold talks with the Dutchman later this week in the hope of finalising a move.
Liverpool are happy for Van den Berg to continue with Preston and extend his loan deal through next season.
Preston pounced to sign Van den Berg on loan on deadline day in February, taking him as part of the move that saw Ben Davies join Liverpool.
Van den Berg was a centre back by trade when he arrived, but grew into a wing-back role brilliantly.
The 19-year-old quickly became a fan favourite with his fine performances, and it’s no surprise that Preston want him back again.
With Daniel Iversen and Liam Lindsay both being targeted too, Preston are looking to keep their most impressive loanees from last term.
Bringing back Van den Berg would be a great start to the summer for Preston, though it would be nice to see him as a right-sided centre back rather than a wing-back next season.
