According to Football Insider, Preston are plotting a move to sign Doncaster Rovers defender Joe Wright before Monday’s transfer deadline.
It’s claimed that North End spotted Wright whilst tracking teammate Ben Whiteman, who joined Preston earlier this month.
Wright is out of contract this summer, and could be signed for a ‘small fee’ before he walks away from Donny on a free transfer.

Wright, 25, came up through the Huddersfield Town ranks, and after a strong loan spell with Accrington Stanley in the 2015-16 season, he joined Doncaster.
A former Welsh Under-21 international, Wright has racked up more than 130 appearances for Doncaster, featuring regularly in League One.

He has even filled in at right back occasionally, which would be a boost for Preston given that Darnell Fisher left for Middlesbrough today.

Wright is a big presence at 6ft 4in tall, and given that he is right-footed, he may be seen as more of a Patrick Bauer replacement than a Ben Davies one.
Davies looks set to leave soon, but a left-footed replacement would surely be needed to replace him, with Wright not really a like-for-like successor – even if he could be a fine bargain for Preston.
