According to The Scottish Sun, Rangers are hoping to snap up Preston North End midfielder Daniel Johnson this week.
It’s claimed that Rangers are hoping to have Johnson signed up before this weekend’s game with Motherwell, meaning the coming days will be key.
There are ‘issues’ in Rangers’ £3million chase, with Preston seemingly playing hardball with Rangers over Johnson’s signature.

The 27-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, and could join Rangers on a pre-contract agreement in the January transfer window.
That would see Preston receive absolutely nothing for Johnson, so a £3million fee could be somewhat appealing to North End.

Johnson has, according to this report, ‘indicated his desire to move on’ from North End, and wants to join Rangers.

The Jamaican missed Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Norwich City, with Alex Neil now stating that an injury will keep him out for around a week.
Johnson may not even be available for Rangers’ game with Motherwell, but if these reports are true, then we may have seen Johnson’s final appearance for North End in what would be a major blow.
