According to the Glasgow Times, Rangers have ‘no interest’ in signing Preston defender Ben Davies to a pre-contract agreement.
Football Insider reported on Monday that Rangers had offered Davies a ‘significant’ deal that would see him move to Ibrox this summer.
However, ‘an Ibrox source’ has told the Glasgow Times that Rangers have no interest in signing Davies at all, with the Gers making it clear no deal will be happening.

That may good news for Celtic; the Bhoys have been pursuing Davies for months, and their Old Firm rivals don’t appear to be rivalling them after all.
Davies, 25, is out of contract this summer and looks likely to leave Deepdale, having so far failed to show an indication that he wants to stay.

As a quick, left-sided defender with the ability to bring the ball out from the back, Davies should have plenty of interest, with North End surely losing hope that he will sign a new deal.

The Rangers rumours didn’t sound great, but this update suggests that Davies won’t be heading to work with Steven Gerrard any time soon.
Celtic remain a threat to North End’s lingering hopes of keeping Davies, and you can expect plenty more rumours about him in the coming weeks.
