The big news surrounding Preston has been over Ben Davies, with the defender now set for a shock move to Liverpool.
Davies is out of contract at the end of the season, so North End haven’t stood in his way having been offered a dream switch to Anfield.
As part of the deal, Preston are expected to sign Liverpool defender Sepp van den Berg, who will arrive on loan until the summer.

The Dutchman could end up staying for next season too, and will give Alex Neil an immediate option at centre back with Davies on the move.
Van den Berg, 19, joined Liverpool from PEC Zwolle in a £1.3million deal back in 2019, but has made just four senior appearances.

He needs first-team football in order to progress, and Sky Sports (14:27) claim that Van den Berg has now arrived for his medical with North End.

A deal for Van den Berg should be done by the end of the day, and one man well-placed to talk about the centre back is Neil Mellor.
Mellor turned out for both Liverpool and Preston, and now works as an analyst for LFC TV, meaning he will have seen plenty of Van den Berg in action.
Mellor has taken to Twitter to urge Preston fans not to expect too much from the teenager as he has been nowhere near Liverpool’s first-team picture despite a lack of centre backs – and isn’t sure he can handle the Championship just yet.
