Preston may well be in the market for another left-footed centre back in this summer’s transfer window.
North End lost Ben Davies to Liverpool in January, and decided to bring in Liam Lindsay on loan from Stoke City as a replacement.
That gave Preston another left-footed centre back, but Lindsay’s lack of pace means that the left-sided centre back in Frankie McAvoy’s back three has been Andrew Hughes.

If McAvoy sticks with the back three, he may need a left-sided centre back with greater mobility than Lindsay.
One other left-footed centre back was linked in January, as The Sun reported that North End are keen on Luton Town defender Sonny Bradley.
The 29-year-old is out of contract this summer, and Football League World claim that he has rejected their latest offer and will leave for free.
That will spark the Preston rumours once again, but Bradley is a similar profile to Lindsay, in that he may not be ideal for North End now.

Bradley is a huge presence at 6ft 5in tall, making him ideal for the central role in a three-man defence. However, Preston have Patrick Bauer and Paul Huntington in that role.
Bradley doesn’t have the pace to play on the left side in a back three, where he would be regularly dragged out into wide areas and forced to go one-on-one against attackers.
Lindsay and Bradley don’t quite fit the bill in a back three, and whilst they could be budget options for North End, we’re expecting others to be targeted instead.
