According to Football Insider, Belgian side Genk could make a move to sign Preston defender Ben Davies.

This is a quite bizarre transfer situation that involves Celtic, so let’s try and get into this one…

Genk have agreed a fee for Philadelphia Union defender Mark McKenzie, with the American ace widely expected to head to Belgium in the near future.

Celtic want McKenzie too, and have been pursuing him for some time, meaning they’re watching developments closely.

The Bhoys are eyeing Davies if they can’t hijack McKenzie’s move to Belgium, but guess what – Genk want him too!

There are fears that McKenzie’s move to Belgium could yet fall apart, and if that happens, then Genk will turn to Davies instead.

Preston would allegedly take £5million for Davies given that he can walk away for nothing with his contract ending this summer.

The futures of Davies and McKenzie now seem intertwined, with one possibly heading to Belgium and one to Scotland; which is which remains to be seen right now though.
