Rotherham have signed Brooke Norton-Cuffy on loan from Arsenal, officially ruling out a move to Preston North End.
We’re nearing the end of the transfer window and Preston still haven’t managed to secure a new right wing back.
This has been a key priority for Ryan Lowe throughout the summer but North End are still waiting for that new arrival.
Moves for Moses Odubajo and Cyrus Christie failed to materialise whilst Ethan Laird has ended up at Queens Park Rangers.
North End desperately need to get this position sorted soon and one more name you can cross off is Norton-Cuffy.
Rotherham have signed Brooke Norton-Cuffy
We reported earlier this month that Norton-Cuffy was a player Preston considered signing earlier in the transfer window.
North End seemingly didn’t take it any further though and Norton-Cuffy has now secured a move for himself.
Rotherham United have secured Norton-Cuffy on a season-long loan deal as Arsenal look to give the teenager some first-team experience.
Norton-Cuffy signed a new contract with Arsenal earlier this month and was even called into first-team training last week.

The 18-year-old impressed on loan at Lincoln City in the second half of last season, taking League One by storm.
The next step in Norton-Cuffy’s development is to play in the Championship and Rotherham have struck with what appears to be a coup.
Norton-Cuffy is strong and very fast, whilst his ability to carry the ball past opponents and into the final third is impressive, even if needing some refinement.
Norton-Cuffy seemed like the kind of talent North End needed as competition for Brad Potts at wing back but, for whatever reason, haven’t followed up that interest.
The clock is ticking and with both Laird and Norton-Cuffy now getting fixed up elsewhere, the pool of targets for North End is thinning out.
