The big story surrounding Preston this week appears to be the future of centre back Ben Davies.
The 25-year-old was outstanding against Reading on Sunday, but North End knew that this could be the week something materialised over a possible exit.
With just days to go until the January deadline, Celtic have now stepped forward to try and secure Davies inside the final six months of his contract.

Sky Sports initially claimed that Celtic had held talks about a pre-contract agreement, but a cash deal could happen immediately.
Sky now claim that Preston have demanded between £2million and £2.5million for Davies in order for him to join Celtic before the deadline.

Bournemouth wanted him too, but with Preston reluctant to sell to a Championship rival, they have asked for £3million from the Cherries.

We all know that Davies – one of the top centre backs in the Championship – is really worth much, much more than that, but his contract situation means North End may now have to sell on the cheap.
Davies could merely sign a pre-contract agreement with Celtic and leave for free in the summer, but North End may prefer to get some money in now.
Let’s see if Celtic are willing to pay up for Davies, or whether Bournemouth are able to swoop in and win the race at the last minute.
