Preston have re-signed two defenders this summer, and that may now rule out a move for Jimmy Dunne.
Liam Lindsay has returned from Stoke City on a permanent basis, whilst Sepp van den Berg is back for a second loan spell from Liverpool.
North End’s back line is now packed, and that’s before a deal for a right back – believed to be Matthew Olosunde – comes in.

Olosunde would join Lindsay and Van den Berg, Joe Rafferty, Jordan Storey, Patrick Bauer, Paul Huntington, Andrew Hughes, Greg Cunningham and Josh Earl in the defensive ranks.
Irish centre back Dunne suddenly became a subject of conversation though, having rejected a new deal to stay at Burnley.
Preston wanted Dunne in January, and some had wondered whether he would be back on the radar with the 23-year-old leaving Burnley.
Lancs Live have ruled out that prospect though, with the line from the club being that Preston aren’t looking for more defensive additions.

So where could Dunne go?
It now sounds like Swansea City are the favourites for Dunne, with Football Insider claiming that talks have now been opened.
Swansea often sign Preston-linked players; Rhian Brewster, Jake Bidwell, Jamal Lowe, Kyle Joseph… it now looks like another could materialise in Dunne.
