Ryan Lowe is in as Preston North End’s new manager – and he has been praised by Blackburn Rovers youth coach Ryan Kidd.
Lowe left Plymouth on Tuesday afternoon, securing a move to North End as Frankie McAvoy’s successor.
Lowe spent over two years at Plymouth, taking them from League Two to the League One play-off places.
There is a buzz at Preston again after this appointment, something we really haven’t felt for a while now.
Fans will be turning out in droves to support Lowe this weekend as Preston take on Barnsley.
Ryan Kidd comments on new Preston boss Lowe
When it became clear that Steven Schumacher wasn’t joining Lowe at Preston, we wondered who would be Lowe’s assistant.
Former Preston defender Ryan Kidd was Lowe’s assistant at Bury for a brief period, and we considered whether he could return to North End.
Instead, Lowe brought in Mike Marsh and Kidd continues his work as a youth coach at Blackburn Rovers.

Kidd was a favourite at Preston, playing more than 300 games for North End.
Kidd has now spoken to the Lancashire Evening Post, talking up the ‘very passionate’ Lowe.
Having played under David Moyes, Kidd then compared Lowe to the West Ham boss in terms of focus and attention to detail – something that will excite Preston fans.
“Ryan is a really good guy and very passionate about football,” said Kidd. “He unites people, whether it is players, staff or the supporters.“He’s up for a laugh and joke at the right time but once work starts, he’s very serious.”
“Ryan reminds me a bit of David Moyes when he started out in management, very focused and he knows what he wants. He wants training to be right and his attention to detail is excellent,” he added.
