Plymouth Argyle boss Ryan Lowe is all set for a move to Preston – and North End are looking for another appointment to help him at Deepdale.
Lowe has become Preston’s top target having sacked Frankie McAvoy on Monday night.
The Liverpudlian has Plymouth sitting fourth in League One and will now look to change Preston’s fortunes.
One early problem for Lowe is that assistant Steven Schumacher is set to stay at Plymouth and take over from Lowe.
Lancs Live now claim that Preston are exploring options away from Schumacher and are planning a new appointment to the coaching staff.
So who could Lowe go for? You would assume he would fancy somebody he has worked with in the past, just like Schumacher.
There are two very interesting names attached to Lowe’s coaching history. Both even have ties to Preston.
Lowe’s coaching start came at Bury, and when he became caretaker boss, Ryan Kidd was his assistant.
Kidd was a Preston favourite in his playing days, spending 10 years with North End.

Now a youth team coach at Blackburn Rovers, Kidd would be a popular addition given his connection with Preston fans and record developing young players.
In July 2018, Lowe then appointed Rob Kelly as his Bury assistant.
Kelly spent time as a Preston coach under Paul Simpson and Alan Irvine, even taking caretaker charge twice.
A vastly experienced coach, Kelly is now working with Wigan Athletic and would make sense to help Lowe.
It could be someone completely different, but Kidd and Kelly have ties to Preston that make him appealing for Lowe.
