Preston tied up their first summer signing last week, luring Liam Lindsay back to the club in a permanent move from Stoke City.
North End will now look to press ahead with more signings, and other loanees from last season are wanted back juts like Lindsay.
Defender Sepp van den Berg and goalkeeper Daniel Iversen are also wanted back at North End, and Iversen could find a familiar face at Deepdale.
Iversen’s Deepdale return
Lancs Live claim that Leicester City stopper Iversen is nearing a return to Preston, with an agreement reached for him to come back after a superb loan spell.
With Kasper Schmeichel and Danny Ward both at Euro 2020, North End may need to be patient with the Foxes keen to keep hold of Iversen until their stoppers return.
Preston chase Olosunde deal
According to the Lancashire Evening Post, Preston have held talks to sign right back Matthew Olosunde following his decision to leave Rotherham United.
The United States international could fill a real problem position for Preston, whilst offering a more natural wing back option than Van den berg.
Available for free and still having real potential at just 23, Olosunde ticks a number of boxes for North End.
Iversen knows Olosunde well
Iversen excelled on loan at Rotherham United in the 2019-20 season, and he did so with Olosunde playing regularly at right back.
The duo featured together for the Millers, and having that existing connection and understanding could be a key factor in targeting Olosunde.
Whilst playing together at Rotherham, Iversen and Olosunde recorded eight clean sheets and may look to bring that understanding to Deepdale – if both deals are done.
Another right back is in the mix for Preston, but Olosunde’s history with Iversen could give him a real advantage as he seeks a Championship move.
