Sepp van den Berg looks set to feature for Preston North End against Liverpool after weeks of questions about his participation.
When North End were drawn against Liverpool in the last 16 of the Carabao Cup, many wondered about Van den Berg.
The Dutch defender is on loan at Preston from Liverpool for the season, extending his loan from earlier this year.
Because Liverpool are Van den Berg’s parent club, they do have the right to block him from playing against them.
That would be a major blow for Preston. Van den Berg is a key player for North End, regularly starting at right wing back.
Preston confirmed talks with Liverpool last month as they attempted to receive permission for him to play in Wednesday’s clash.

Updates have been thin on the ground, but the day before Liverpool head to Preston, it looks like we have confirmation.
Liverpool assistant boss Pepijn Lijnders has stated that Van den Berg will be allowed to play.
Lijnders believes that it would be wrong to block Van den Berg from playing, suggesting that he needs to play in big games like this for his development.
