Preston North End are already facing interest in young striker Felipe Rodriguez-Gentile with a host of Premier League clubs now keen.

Rodriguez-Gentile hit the headlines earlier this month after scoring five goals against Rotherham in the FA Youth Cup.

From predatory finishes inside the box to a long-range screamer and even a headed goal despite his diminutive size, Rodriguez-Gentile did it all.

PNE fans are understandably very excited about Rodrigez-Gentile and would love to see him in the first team one day.

Looking Back At My 2022 World Cup Predictions

Ryan Lowe has tried to calm the hype a little but he did note that 16-year-old Rodriguez-Gentile will be training with the North End first team soon.

Lowe noted that Rodriguez-Gentile is a ‘fantastic talent’ but didn’t want to put too mcc pressure on such a young player.

Well, get ready for that hype to ramp up again because the Premier League’s elite are now interested.

The Mirror report that Liverpool and Manchester United are both interested in signing Rodriguez-Gentile.

It’s noted that the teenager has already agreed a two-year scholarship with North End, which kicks in at the end of the season.

Yet top Premier League clubs are still looking with Manchester City, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur all keen.

This is the difficult thing for Football League clubs; as soon as a teenager hits the headlines, the Premier League’s top clubs start sniffing around.

North End have experienced this before with James Weir being snatched away by Manchester United at a young age.

PNE must now hope to keep hold of Rodriguez-Gentile and prove that Deepdale is the best place for him to continue his development, rather than make an early move to a huge Premier League club.
