Preston want Bersant Celina – a player Alex Neil was keen to sign back in the summer of 2018 but was priced out of a deal.
North End are being linked with many players up and down the country as Ryan Lowe re-tools his squad this summer.
Preston need some key recruits this summer having released 13 players and transfer-listed three more.
Lowe has talked up the potential of a big summer transfer window for Preston and it’s almost hard to keep up with all the rumours.
One name linked in recent weeks is Dijon playmaker Celina in what could be a very interesting move.
Preston want Bersant Celina
Ipswich Town-based website TWTD reported that Preston have joined the race to sign Celina this summer.
Celina just spent this past season on loan at Ipswich and the Tractor Boys would like to keep him at Portman Road.
The Kosovo international notched six goals and six assists in 32 League One appearances for Ipswich.
Now heading back to France, it’s unclear whether Celina actually has a long-term future at Dijon.
Preston could now swoop in for Celina as they look to reunite him with his former Swansea City coach Mike Marsh.

What’s interesting is that this isn’t the first time Preston have looked into signing Celina.
Alex Neil wanted to sign Celina from Manchester City back in 2018 having seen him impress on loan at – you guessed it – Ipswich.
However, Neil told the Lancashire Evening Post that whilst he fancies signing Celina, Swansea were able to swoop in with a £4million deal.
That kind of fee was way beyond Preston and likely will be for a long time to come.
Yet four years on from missing out on Celina, Preston could finally bring the playmaker to Deepdale in a deal worth much, much less than that £4million demand.
