Preston have been linked with Benjamin Siegrist but Celtic are now considering a move for the former Dundee United goalkeeper this summer.

The Sun reported last month that Preston had opened talks to sign Siegrist on a free transfer.

Siegrist is available for nothing this summer having allowed his Dundee United contract to expire.
Siegrist played with Daniel Johnson at Aston Villa and the 30-year-old could reunite with the Preston playmaker.
Lancs Live did though add that there had been no contact at all between Preston and Siegrist, never mind contract talks.
With such conflicting information, it’s hard to know what to believe about Preston’s interest in Siegrist.
If North End are keen then they now face something of a battle for the free agent goalkeeper.

The Daily Mail state that Celtic are now looking to sign Siegrist after allowing Vasilis Barkas to join Utrecht on loan.
The idea would be for Siegrist – a proven quality goalkeeper in Scotland – to offer competition for Joe Hart at Celtic.
Scott Bain is also in the ranks but Siegrist would likely be viewed as second choice for Ange Postecoglou’s side.
You could hardly blame Siegrist for fancying that move; Celtic are an enormous club, have Champions League football and title challenges to offer whilst being able to offer Siegrist the chance to stay in Scotland rather than up sticks.
Amid links to Freddie Woodman, it now feels unlikely that Siegrist will be joining Preston this summer and Celtic could be the beneficiaries.
