We’re all expecting Preston to sign Daniel Iversen soon, but Wayne Hennessey was also linked earlier this summer.
Frankie McAvoy has admitted that North End are ‘in a good position’ to bring Iversen back on loan from Leicester City.
Just in case anything goes wrong though, Preston would be wise to have another goalkeeping target in mind.

Looking to the free agent market could be one idea, and Football League World reported earlier this summer that North End were keen on Wayne Hennessey.
The Welsh goalkeeper is a free agent after leaving Crystal Palace and provides vast experience at the age of 34.
The rumour seemed a little strange at the time, and any lingering idea of Hennessey joining Preston can be ruled out.

The Daily Mail (15:43) report that Hennessey is not only being targeted by Preston’s Lancashire rivals Burnley, but also Premier League giants Chelsea.
They’re seemingly eyeing up as experienced cover for their main goalkeepers, a role that Hennessey has been playing at Palace.
If the Hennessey rumour had any truth in the first place, we would imagine he was just a backup target in case Iversen didn’t come back – and a move to Deepdale looks even less likely now.
