According to a new report from Football Insider, Preston have now had a new bid accepted for Doncaster Rovers midfielder Ben Whiteman.
North End had one bid rejected for Whiteman last week, and fans have been fearing that the club would miss out on a major signing.
However, it’s now suggested that Whiteman has been given permission to speak to North End after a deal worth more than £1.5million was agreed.

The 24-year-old now looks set to make the move to Deepdale, having been attracted by Preston’s geographical location; Whiteman hails from Rochdale and still lives in the North West.
This has been quite the saga in recent days, with Whiteman looking close to signing before Doncaster went public with their decision to reject Preston’s bid.

Donny boss Darren Moore suggested that his captain was available to face Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, but he was then pulled out having ‘blown up’ in training.

Reports later suggested that Whiteman was actually left out because his head had been turned by Preston’s interest, and it looks like North End’s patience will now pay off.
Three sources have backed up to Deepdale Digest that Whiteman is nearing a move to Preston, which would make the midfielder North End’s fourth signing of the January window.
