Preston North End are now pushing to sign Liverpool talent Calvin Ramsay on a season-long loan deal.
That is according to the Liverpool Echo, who claim that PNE are hoping to convince Liverpool to send Ramsay to Deepdale.
It’s stated that Liverpool are yet to make a decision on Ramsay’s future but they are aware that he needs playing time.
Ramsay joined Liverpool from Aberdeen last summer, making a £4million move having impressed in Scotland.
The teenager showed enormous potential at Pittodrie and Liverpool were more than happy to bring him in.
However, Ramsay’s Liverpool medical brought up a back problem, which kept the youngster out of action for a while.
Ramsay then suffered a knee injury in January, ruling him out for the rest of the campaign.
The 19-year-old managed just two first-team appearances in his debut Liverpool campaign and played no Premier League minutes.
It’s clear that Ramsay now needs first-team action and a loan is the best way for that to happen.
PNE are in the market for another right wing back and Ramsay may just be the man for Ryan Lowe and co.

Who is PNE target and Liverpool talent Calvin Ramsay?
Ramsay was born in Aberdeen and made his way up through the ranks with the Dons.
Handed a first-team debut as a substitute back in 2021, Ramsay developed rapidly and excelled during the 2021-22 season.
Ramsay attracted enormous interest off the back of his Aberdeen displays and Liverpool ended up winning the race.
Jurgen Klopp appears to be a big fan of Ramsay, hailing him as an ‘outstanding talent’ whilst speaking to BBC Sport in September.
Already a Scotland international having been capped against Turkey in November 2022, Ramsay has been backed for a huge future.
This would be a hugely exciting loan move for PNE and hopefully the Reds will send Ramsay to Lancashire given that North End seem ready to let Liverpool play a pre-season friendly at Deepdale.
