According to Football League World, Preston are interested in signing Forest Green Rovers defender Udoka Godwin-Malife.
It’s stated that both North End and Huddersfield Town are pursuing Godwin-Malife this summer having been impressed with his displays in the fourth tier.
The 20-year-old has made 48 appearances in all competitions this season, emerging as one of League Two’s top young defenders.

Formerly of Oxford City, Godwin-Malife looks to have a bright future ahead of him, and he could appeal to Preston.
He’s only 5ft 11in tall, but he has versatility to play at both right back and right-sided centre back, possessing athleticism whilst also being known as one of the best passers out of defence in League Two.
His versatility may suggest that Godwin-Malife is a budget option if Sepp van den Berg doesn’t return from Liverpool this summer.

In truth though, this feels a little like the links to Swindon Town defender Akin Odimayo, which haven’t really gone anywhere.
Both are lower league defenders with potential and versatility, but maybe aren’t quite ready for Championship football right now.
We can’t see Godwin-Malife joining Preston this summer as things stand, but maybe North End are eyeing him up as one for the future.
