Preston are searching for a new right back this summer, and may now face competition from Sheffield Wednesday for Matthew Olosunde.
North End have re-signed Sepp van den Berg, but all hints point towards him playing as more of a centre back next season, having featured as a right wing back last term.
That means Preston must find at least one right back this summer, and there’s even an argument to go for two in order to revamp the position.

Preston’s interest in Olosunde
The Lancashire Evening Post reported earlier this month that Preston have held talks with Matthew Olosunde as he prepares to leave Rotherham United.
Former Manchester United talent Olosunde had been offered a new deal by the Millers, but chose to leave the club following their relegation to League One.
A United States international, the 23-year-old has real pace to get forward and fits the mould as a right wing back, especially having been likened to Dani Alves in the past – a bold comparison he hasn’t quite lived up to.

Sheffield Wednesday join the race
The Sheffield Star now suggest that League One Sheffield Wednesday are looking to sign Olosunde and are keeping tabs on his situation.
Joining the Owls would allow Olosunde to remain in South Yorkshire, but Darren Moore’s men may not be able to match Preston financially.
Still, this is a warning shot for North End; they’re not the only club keen on Olosunde, and if they want him signed up, they will have to move quickly.
