Preston have wrapped up four signings this summer, and may now be waiting for a striking addition; could it be Keinan Davis?
Liam Lindsay and Sepp van den Berg are back after loan spells earlier this year, whilst Matthew Olosunde has joined them in providing defensive options.
Izzy Brown is the only signing that won’t be playing in defence, with the Chelsea playmaker brought in to provide more guile and quality in the final third.
With goalkeeper Daniel Iversen expected to come back on loan from Leicester City, you can make a case that a striker is now the top priority for Preston.

Frankie McAvoy has Ched Evans and Emil Riis in his striking ranks, whilst Seani Maguire, Scott Sinclair and Tom Barkhuizen can all play up top if needed.
Still, one more natural centre forward to add competition appears to be the priority for North End, and an interesting rumour has emerged.
The Athletic claim that ‘a stack’ of Championship clubs want to sign Davis this summer, seemingly sensing a chance to take him on loan.
Davis will be behind Ollie Watkins and Wesley at Villa Park, whilst Dean Smith seemingly wants to re-sign Tammy Abraham too, which would push Davis even further down the pecking order.

Could Preston be one of the clubs interested?
It wouldn’t be a shock.
North End are linked with Davis regularly. Preston made a move in 2019, and a similar rumour emerged in September 2020.
Unsurprisingly, the rumour came up again in December, with Preston allegedly keen on a January move before signing Evans.
The 23-year-old only started one Premier League game last season and ultimately needs games. He’s big, physical and has a turn of pace, causing problems for defenders when used as a substitute.
His goalscoring record isn’t great, but with Preston seeking another centre forward, a new loan bid for Davis – after three previous attempts – does make sense.
